Gurgaon is once again in the news for the wrong reasons concerning Labour Unions. This time it is Suzuki Motorcycles which are effected.
Labour Unions are threatening to go strike after Holi, if three suspended workers are not reinstated. Suzuki Motorcycle India Employee Union (SMIEU) have said that of the three, two are office bearers in the union. President of SMIEU, Anil Kumar and General Secretary Avinesh Kumar and Pradeep Kumar had been suspended on disciplinary grounds. SMIEU says their suspension was unfounded and must be reinstated.

This is the only Union that exists at this plant. The management says they have not received any notice for a strike from the Labour Unions.

"We have had talks with the management and labour department officials but nothing has happened. The workers will wait for about 15-20 days after Holi and if their demands are not met, they will go on strike,"
"The charges of indiscipline against us are completely unfounded. The supervisors were also equally responsible for the altercations and while they continue to work, we have been suspended,"
