
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) sales rose by 15% in March 2013. Sales for March 2013 stood at 252773 units as compared to 220487 units in March 2012. Motorcycle sales jumped 47% in this month. Scooter sales were down by 4%.
India Yamaha Motor March 2013 sales grew by 20.5% as compared to the corresponding month of 2012. Sale in March 2013 stood at 50473 units as compared to March 2012 which was 41886 units. In the domestic market the sales of the company grew by 20%.
Hero Moto Corp reports fall in sale for the month of March 2013. Sales fell by a 11.36% from 528290 units in March 2012 to 468283 units in March 2013. Persistent inflation, firm interest rates, rising fuel prices and negative consumer sentiment were the reasons given for the reduction in the monthly sales.
Bajaj Auto March motorcycle sales fell by 11% in March 2013. Sale in March 2013 stood at 2.67 lakhs, while exports were down by 6%.

The Japanese manufacturers are going ahead with all guns blazing, with Honda in the lead. The Indian manufacturers suffered another dismal month. Is Honda's confidence not misplaced in overtaking Hero for top honours in the not so distant future?
