If I am not wrong the new RE plant is churning out only Desert Storm and TB 500. So, I would like to know if there has been a considerable reduction in waiting period for Desert Storm? Has anyone booked Desert Storm/ TB 500 in last two months and got a surprisingly earlier delivery date. Or is it still the same old story of waiting period of up to four to six months?

Friends, any info on whether all models are being pumped out of the new plant or is it only new models?

I think they have started producing others models also as waiting period has come down drastically ...
i have got my Electra 350 in just 3 months,& there is no waiting on 500cc models..

My friend is booking a desert storm, officially the waiting period is still 6 months but deliveries are happening as early as 1-2 months. Maybe the dealer is circulating the money, not sure.

That's fantastic. So, is it right and safe to assume that fit, finish and reliability of models like Standard 350 and Electra 350 would also improve as all models are assumed to be from new plant?

Very hard to say that the products churning out of new plant will be reliable as company has opened this new plant to reduce long waiting period, the products coming out of newer plants are still having same old problems.

I think its not mentioned anywhere that the first plant would stop production of any models. Therefore the chance to get a bike from the new plant is 50:50.

Initially when RE start assembling bikes in the new plant, they started with DS500 and TBTS, but informed that after sometime most of the bullets will be made in the newer plant, butwhat will they do with older plant was not clarified, may be they will make parts in the older plant and then assemble them in the newer plant with better fit and finish, as they have got a fully robotised paint booth in this Oragadam greenfield facility.

Definately Quality has improved a lot from earlier versions...

But i wonder when RE will start giving official sales numbers as other bike makers??

I too think so. Then, I guess famous hand-painting of RE's is also history now with fully robotized paint booth in the new facility.

@Satyamzma If I am not wrong they gave their sales figures last year. But as you rightly pointed out even I do not see anywhere any info about sales figures of RE till now for this year. Probably, I might have missed seeing it somewhere.

No till date the old style pin stripe is still done by hand and is still done by same man who is doing this job for years, i will pray that this old technique goes on and on forever,may be they are not deliberately mentioning the actual sales number of motorcycles.

Yes even Yamaha & Ford, Daimler, Nissan, TVS, Hyundai, Renault-Nissan and Ashok Leyland having their factories there.
