Classic Legends, a subsidiary of Mahindra, has had one goal since its inception- reviving iconic but defunct motorcycle brands. They did it with Jawa, they are known to be doing the same for Yezdi. And now, the same is being done with BSA. Back in June 2021, Classic Legends had revealed that they had developed a 650cc single-cylinder engine. That very engine will supposedly power the BSA Gold Star.
The Gold Star was originally sold between 1938 and 1963, powered by different engines ranging from 350cc to 500cc. The Gold Star of 2022 will be powered by the 650cc single-cylinder mentioned earlier. The exact specifications of the engine have not been revealed yet but considering the modern-classic nature of the BSA Gold Star, we expect it to be between 40-50 bhp.
The styling of the motorcycle is based heavily on the original. It carries most of its predecessor's lines and proportions. The twin-pod instrument cluster is also a nod to the classic roots of the BSA Gold Star. Classic Legends plans to produce BSA Gold Star in Birmingham, the brand's original home. More details in regards to the motorcycle will be revealed soon.
