  • TVS Racing Team gears up for INMRC 2024

Being at the forefront of nurturing racing talent since 1982, TVS Racing is gearing up for the 2024 INMRC season in India this year, after a spectacular win at the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) in 2023. TVS Racing team will be participating in two categories this year, namely Pro stock (PS) up to 165 cc with TVS Apache RTR 165 GP, and Pro stock 301 cc to 400cc with TVS Apache RR 310, to showcase outstanding racing skills by the racers.

In the Pro stock 165cc category, the TVS Racing Team is fielding four riders; Jagan Kumar, KY Ahamed, Sarthak Chavan, and Chiranth Viswanath. In the Pro stock 301cc to 400cc category, TVS Racing Team will be represented by KY Ahamed, Sarthak Chavan, Deepak Ravikumar, and Chiranth Viswanath.

The first round of the 2024 TVS One Make Championship (OMC) will take place alongside INMRC, which has five categories: TVS OMC Rookie Category; TVS OMC Women’s Category; TVS OMC Young Media Racer Programme; TVS OMC RR 310 (Race of Champions) and TVS OMC EV Category. With the aim to democratize motorsports in India, participants in all five categories will cater to different segments and target audiences.

Commenting on the event, Vimal Sumbly, Head – Premium Business, TVS Motor Company, said, “We are steadfast in our commitment to democratise racing and continue our successful win rate of 80% across all the races we have participated in. Our relentless pursuit of racing excellence is ingrained in the creation of our world-class products, driving continuous innovation and setting new standards within the TVS Apache series. The racing team put up a stellar performance last year, dominating the 13th edition of INMRC. We clinched the Team Championship title for pro stock 165cc and made history in the world of e-racing. We are confident that the team is ready to put up stellar performances across categories again this year, and I wish them all the best for the season.”

In line with the company’s commitment towards the safety of its riders, TVS Motor becomes the first Indian manufacturer to take safety to the level adopted at MotoGP by introducing Alpinestars Air bags tech Air-5 & FIM homologated carbon fibre helmets for its racers, in this race season. The Pro Stock TVS Apache RR 310 motorcycle for this season comes equipped with an electronic throttle, while the TVS Apache RTR 165 GP gets an improved suspension. Additionally, both motorcycles will offer a more refined engine, and better aerodynamics backed by decreased CdA, thereby ensuring better vehicle performance.

TVS Racing continued to dominate at the 2023 INMRC delivering an electrifying performance, winning the Team Championship title for the fifth consecutive year in the Pro Stock 301-400cc category, while K Y Ahamed clinched the Rider Champion title. Additionally, the team leapt into the future by introducing its first-ever E-racing OMC in India breaking records with the all-electric TVS Apache RTE. TVS Racing achieved a new lap record time of 1 minute and 47.3 seconds, surpassing the previous best of 1 minute and 49.1 seconds with the Apache RTE e-Race Motorcycle, and established a new top speed record of 199 kph, exceeding the previous record of 193 kph in the e-Race category.
