Piaggio India has announced that the prices of the popular Aprilia 457 range will not be impacted by the recent hike in GST from 28% to 40%. The brand has taken measures to negate the impact of the revised GST that is set to impact all motorcycles above 350cc. The measures taken by the brand are as follows:
For the Tuono 457, Piaggio India has decided to absorb the complete GST impact, and there will be no price hike for the customers. The ex-showroom, Maharashtra cost for Tuono 457 continues to be INR 3,95,000.
Things are slightly tricky with the Aprilia RS 457, though. Piaggio India is offering benefits of over INR 35,000 to all customers, effectively negating the revised GST price hike. This includes a flat INR 15,000 absorption of the GST price hike and a complimentary quick shifter worth INR 20,500 on all RS457 bikes across India. The Aprilia RS 457 will now be available at an ex-showroom, Maharashtra cost of INR 4,35,000 (with a complimentary quick shifter included).
Both the 457s are powered by a state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder with double camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder, delivering 48 hp of power. Adding to the character of the engine is the 270-degree connecting rod assembly that produces a unique and exciting sound that reflects its performance.
