Mahindra Racing is delighted to announce that Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries will continue to drive for the team in the upcoming 2026/27 FIA Formula E World Championship season.
Season 13 marks the beginning of a new era for Formula E, with the series entering its fourth generation with the arrival of the state-of-the-art GEN4 – the fastest Formula E car to date.
Having joined Mahindra Racing in 2023, Mortara and de Vries have played a pivotal role in the team’s progression and development over the past three seasons and together, have secured two victories and a further 10 podium finishes, alongside six pole positions.
Their efforts during the 2025/26 season helped to deliver Mahindra Racing its strongest campaign in Formula E to date, with the marque equalling its best-ever finish of third in the Teams’ Championship, scoring a record 252 points – the highest points tally achieved by the team in a single season.
Carrying this momentum forward, Mortara and de Vries will lead Mahindra Racing into Formula E’s GEN4 era, providing a combination of experience, proven race-winning ability, and continuity as the team looks to build on its progress and challenge at the front of the grid.
For Mortara, the 2026/27 campaign will mark his 10th season competing in Formula E. When GEN4 makes its race debut, the Swiss-Italian will have competed across all four generations of the championship. He has already established himself as one of the category’s most experienced and successful drivers.
With six victories and 18 podium finishes to his name, Mortara finished runner-up in Season 7, challenged for the title through the Season 8 finale, and remained mathematically in contention entering the Season 12 finale. His depth of experience will continue to be a valuable asset to Mahindra Racing in GEN4.
De Vries, meanwhile, will enter his seventh season in Formula E, having established himself as one of the championship’s leading drivers since making his debut after winning the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2019.
The Dutchman won the Formula E World Drivers’ Championship in only his second season and has 15 podium finishes and six career victories to his name – two of which came during the 2025/26 season, contributing to Mahindra Racing’s record-breaking success.
With both drivers now entering their fourth season with the team, the continuation of the pairing provides Mahindra Racing with a strong foundation as Formula E moves into its next chapter.

We’ve made a lot of progress together, and finishing third in the Teams’ Championship last season was a great reward for all the hard work everyone across the team has put in.
