The drums of peace are resounding across the borders of two historic nations, as the cricketers of India and Pakistan come together on the playing field after a gap of 14 long years in Pakistan. Royal Enfield will add excitement to the occasion. Thirty Royal Enfield enthusiasts from across the country will undertake a historic journey on Royal Enfield motorcycles from New Delhi to Lahore. The Riders are very upbeat as this ride provides them with the opportunity to cross the border, make new friends and hold on to the hope of riding across the border soon.
The riders will pass through Ambala, Jalandhar, cross the Wagah border and proceed to Lahore. They will witness the match to be held between India and Pakistan at Lahore on the 21st March, 2004. The peace contingent will return via Ludhiana and reach New Delhi on the 23rd March, 2004.
Ride Plan
17th March
The Riders reached New Delhi safely and were waiting eagerly for the ride to commence.
18th March
The riders were flagged off from the National Stadium, New Delhi by the Honorable Chief Minister Ms. Sheila Dik****.
19th March
The Riders, after being the center of media attention in New Delhi were happy to hit the road to Jalandhar. Enroute, they stopped at the Panipat and Ambala dealerships and reached Jalandhar at 9:00 pm. Our dealers, Jalandhar Motors and Chowdhary Motor Agency gave them a warm welcome. They were flagged off to the Wagah Border this morning at 9:00 am.
20th March
Our Ambassadors will take in the sights, sounds and smells of Lahore.
21st March
They'll all be raring to cheer the teams as they face each other at the 4th ODI to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium. A day-night encounter that will thrill the Ambassadors no end.
22nd March
A heady night later, the Ambassadors will head back to the Wagah Border, mount their favourite steeds and head for New Delhi, staying overnight at Ludhiana.
23rd March
After a ride that started early morning, the Ambassadors reach New Delhi by evening for a dinner gathering. The next day they'll all head home with memories of a historical occasion.
