I guess Hero had conducted various research among these people who would have been asked what all changes they would like to see in new Karizma and this is what have come out. The masses will most probably like this design because it is big and sporty for them. Though the raised rear seat is a question mark as that thing doesn't go well with them?

Similar story for ZMR too and hence we see those headlights like P220

Coming onto the engine of Karizma by the look it seems to be exactly the same engine so I guess power output will remain same. Even for ZMR I guess the tech spec will remain same. The new engine that has surfaced is probably the one that will do its duty on the 250cc slated to come next year.

So Karizma and ZMR will remain the bike for masses and the new 250cc will be targeted at the Innovators and Early adaptors who are currently with Yamaha and Bajaj and some with Honda

Agreed to all that theorey, however when it comes to market share, Hero is behind Honda and Bajaj in Premium segments. This is not something I have made out of thin air, few days back there was an article in NDTV Business, which mentioned the reasons why Hero could loose significant market share in near future. Their share prices have made little progress compared to rival Bajaj. There was a time when Bajaj share price was half of Hero Honda, and today they are neck to neck.

Coming to the point, market has moved on from Karizma days. The fact that they are at the bottom of premium segment and loosing market share, shows people expect more from what they have to offer.

India is a big market, there are buyers for everything. Even Mojo in its previous avtar will find buyers. Hero has to move on, think out of the box.

Point to be accepted.. the new ZMR will be better for touring purposes and probably thats why the dual headlights and a big front visor.. after all.. people are buying the Karizma and the ZMR mainly for touring purposes and this might help in this sense..

eagerly waiting to see the specs sheet of these bikes.. anything below 19bhp is a big let down

Not upto my taste and I am quite happy with the looks of ZMR..

but God knows how good they look in flesh so lets wait for the beasts to hit the showrooms and roads..

coming to the power point of view.. they said these bikes perform better than the current models, which means.. probably a little tweak here and there to give a better performance figures.. but we should not expect anything more than a 18.6 bhp :P and lets hope the weight of the ZMR has reduced as the fairing doesn't look as bulky as the present ZMR..

Looks like people here have better ideas than the team employed by Munjals. I guess they can bring back original CBZ with Karizma's engine. Also, they can lend Karizma's engine to Impulse, in the mean time, they can ask EBR or they themselves can tune Karizma engine for higher output, like a Big Bore or something.

Right now when companies like Bajaj and Honda have taken a lead in Premium segment with Dukes, CBRs, 200 NSs Hero should do something different to get noticed, like Bajaj did with Pulsars and KTM.

They need new ideas to take them forward.

Gosh!!!! CBZ, Karizma were by far the best looking bikes from HH stable, and then all HELL broke loose when they released Xtreme and ZMR. I am sorry but I find Xtreme especially in current avtar and ZMR to be most ugly bikes here. Now new ZMR seems to have taken top spot.

How tough was it to retain original designs like CBZ and Karizma? Even today a well maintained CBZ looks way better than current crop of bikes.
