I, personally don't quite like the looks of the 09'R1, but going by the text on various websites on the net, it seems to be an awesome machine! If only I had the moolah, I would've got it RIGHT NOW - no questions asked and ofcourse NO second thoughts!

Awesome report, the RAM air induction, YCC-T throttle system and all the Moto GP tech in a production bike. Personally I liked its Looks more then the 2008, I Feel it looks more dominating and brutal(just my personal opinion).

Love these reviews these guys do. Now, am just waiting for the April shootout issue from motorcycle-usa to find out what the '09 R1 will do to the opposition.

The '08 One too had Ram-air induction IIRC..

          Anyways..
I fear the Blade has met its match. Its time for Yamaha to take back the top spot in the litre class arena

Seriously man.. the 2009 R1 was at 3/4th place last year.. quite excited to see how it performs against the 2009 Blade this year.

If it resembles Wall-E in any way, then I would surely fall in love with it! I absolutely adore Wall-E!

But, this machine surely is a massive change from the earlier ones (read 07 and 08 models) which were practically unchanged! But with the 2009 YZF-R1, Yamaha has surely upped the ante!

The '07 and the '08 R1's were the same basically. Only the model year changed then.
But the product cycle for Yamaha is such that they had to update the One this year and boy have they done that..!!
Sadly, it'll be last year's blade that'll do battle with the all-new One...

spot on aryan... you just wrote my feelings about this awesome machine.

the r1 has been a cult bike in india and over the globe and after knowing what yamaha has done with this one makes everyone(at least me) wish that this bike should and will kick a** of whatever is thrown at it. i do not intend to look down on other SBKs as they all are more than capabale of what someone like me or any common guy from us is capable to handle, but still a yam is a yam! period.

I have not been able to wipe this wide stupid grin off my face ever since I have read this report. Through all of 08 i was wondering.." why o why hasn't Yam come up with anything to match the 08 Blade." So now we knw Can't wait for the shootout.
