Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp and Yamaha India have increased their prices before the start of the festive season.
Due to a volatile rupee and increased input costs, Bajaj, Hero and Yamaha have increased prices of their products from Rs 160 to Rs 5000. Honda Motorcycles may also follow suit in increasing prices, now that two of its main competitors have gone ahead and done so.
Bajaj has increased prices between Rs500 to Rs 5000, while Hero has increased prices between Rs 500 and Rs 1000. Yamaha has gone ahead with the smallest hike of the three, increasing prices by Rs 160 to Rs 400.
This hike is after good sales in September 2013. The Two Wheeler segment grew by 15% in September 2013.
