I know this news is already out there, but it fits with the theme of this thread.

KTM to roll out Husqvarna bikes from Bajaj's plant in 2 yrs - Economic Times

KTM to roll out Husqvarna bikes from Bajaj's plant in 2 yrs

"Our current focus is the KTM bikes, but in the next two years you will see the Husqvarna bikes coming from the Chakan plant," KTM Sportmotorcycles AG CEO Stefan Pierer told reporters here.

Earlier this year in January, Pierer, who owns a majority stake in KTM, had acquired Husqvarna from Germany's BMW.

On plans to launch more KTM bikes in India, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said: "KTM has developed a full-fledged sports model under the brand RC. We will launch it by the end of next year."

KTM Duke 690 India bound. Time to rejoice!

Source - Rejoice! KTM 690 Duke is India bound! - Motoroids.com

The KTM 690 Duke, akin to the 125, 200 and 390, will be manufactured in India and this would mean that the 690 could come to us at an ultra competitive price point. The KTM 690 Duke is powered by a 690cc, single cylinder, 4 stroke, fuel injected engine that has a max power of 67 bhp. The motor comes mated to a 6 speed gearbox and the 690 Duke tips the scale at just 149.5 kgs (that, for reference, is lighter than a Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSI!). The bike has a 14 litres fuel tank capacity. How much are you willing to pay for the upcoming naked monster?

Re: Bajaj's KTM eyeing global market via India: xBhp News

Actually KTM has the advantage when it comes to higher CC bikes because they have the manufacturing done by Bajaj, they can always make some for domestic market even if they want to target for export. But not so with other companies where they have to develop newer models strictly for Indian market which makes for more expensive proposition. But isn't KTM already assembling these in Thailand, wonder why they would want to shift to India?
