True, but Yamaha rules only in the 150cc segment, the sub 150cc is something they need to concentrate.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostIts crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

Yes, the Gladiator/SS125 and the YBR125 are the only 125s in Yamaha's lineup, and they are a decade old. Even though they are very good bikes, they have been suffering from poor sales due to their poor mileage and they have never seen an upgrade since the day they were launched.
Does Yamaha have a 100 cc in their lineup? I recall they had a model called Alba 105 or something...is it still available?Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Yes they have two bikes YBR110 and Crux in 100cc space.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostDoes Yamaha have a 100 cc in their lineup? I recall they had a model called Alba 105 or something...is it still available?
Yamaha in the mind stands only for performance bikes in India so they need to focus more on the sports category or even a good looking 125cc can give them volumes of 8000-10000 per month.

Re: December 2013 Two Wheeler Sales: xBhp News
Its because of their after sales service and reliability of the vehicle. Once a person owns a Bajaj, there is a very lean chance that he would go for Bajaj again for his next ride!Originally posted by abhiiceman View Postif this trend continues bajaj should forget honda and compete with TVS..really dont know why theirs sales are falling every month despite best bikes
Same's the case with me as well
, i would really think a 100 times before going for Bajaj again..
They really need to focus primarily on their ASS (after sale service
) and second comes the reliability!
Plus, until now they had their major sales in Pulsar 150s and the Discovers. But people have now started realizing that its worthwhile to pay more for a more reliable engine and a better A.S.S (Honda, Yamaha)Last edited by Sal; 01-08-2014, 12:51 AM.It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Honda definitely does not have a better A.s.s (minus the dots, that is!), but yes, would agree that Yammie is better.Originally posted by Sal View Posta better A.S.S (Honda,Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Though its going OT, But let me tell you, Honda has the worst ASS in India atleast. second comes Bajaj. And yes, Yamaha's management are best every where.... TVS is inconsistent.... at my place, its great, but else where you will find many complains(But atleast they listen, Honda never listens).Originally posted by Sal View Post....................

Re: December 2013 Two Wheeler Sales: xBhp News
I personally don't think Bajaj bikes are unreliable because I have owned the first Discover125 for 8 years now and it runs just fine. I think most problems are caused by bad maintenance and misuse/harsh use of bikes. Pulsars are good to rip but they take their toll on the bike and it shows and ironically it's usually blokes on Pulsars who rip their bikes causing this impression of unreliable bike.

Re: December 2013 Two Wheeler Sales: xBhp News
I have owned a 180 classic for 8 years, and 220 for 4 years and am planning to buy yet another when the 375 arrives as there is no good twin cylinder bike available as of now and a 375 single is my next choice. Suffice to say, I find bajaj bikes reliableOriginally posted by Sal View PostIts because of their after sales service and reliability of the vehicle. Bajaj bikes may require comparatively more maintainance but they are easier to own than any other bike in India due to their cheap and abundantly available spares and easy to fix engines.
Since you brought in honda and yamaha, honda is a pain in the back side to own, due to their bad attitude and serious lack of spares(basic spares like break pads and indicator glass etc.). Yamaha has good asc but spare availability is another issue.
I have said it before, lack of scooters in bajaj's line up is hurting their sales badly. They should bring in atleast 2 automatic scooters.

Re: December 2013 Two Wheeler Sales: xBhp News
refinement has nothing to do with engine life its just that they are not as smooth as the japanese ,btw im talking about p220 or prior engines ,newer engines are more refined...no matter its a bajaj , honda or any brand maintainance in the key for long engine life else even a merc or beemer can be termed as unreliable..Originally posted by vicedens2002 View PostSorry for OT..
