Re: Indian Chief Motorcycles Launch in India - Price, specs, and other details!

Priced at 26.5 Lacs INR, 29.5 Lacs INR, and 33 Lacs INR ex-showroom !!
I do not possess any knowledge about these bikes, as a matter of fact, its on Xbhp itself I came to know that there exists a brand of motorcycles called "Indian Chief" which is not Indian/ not manufactured by India .
Looks apart, whats so special about Indian chief bikes? why are they so costly?

& I wonder who in the right sense of mind would buy this bike instead of a Suzuki intruder m1800 / Truimph Rocket 3 / Harley?
These bikes have a Torque figure of around 139Nm @2300rpm, but Intruder has 160Nm @3200rpm.

P.S : Please pardon my Indian mentality of "Kitna deti hai", if this post opposes anyone.

And I was thinking that Bullet 500 is heavy at 193 KG.

Hold your horses, brothers. GVWR is the maximum total weight that the vehicle can handle (vehicle's own weight + passangers + luggage + fluids etc etc). The fully equipped bike is ~350 kg by itself. So, it has room for a couple of 100kg passengers and their bags.

i can see a 12V DC socket on the dashboard / speedo console, i want to know, if it works even in rains.??

the socket when not in use, can be made waterproof by a tight rubber flap, but can we use it to charge something in rains.

The 12v DC socket is only on the Chieftain. You are right, the socket can be covered with the rubber flap. Whether it can be used during rains or not, i cannot say, as we did not get this model for testing, and the company did not mention anything specifically regarding the same.

Therefore I assume that it cannot be used in the rain.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Dosen‘t it have more than required gadgets..?... Its too much for the bike.. the price, the size, and the gadgets...instead its like a fully loaded lorry...with 2 seats..
