In the next one year, LML will be bringing 5 new scooters based on its classic LML Vespa look, with a target as an all male scooter. Since 2007, LML has been primarily exporting scooters to the European market and had to cut down its workforce from 7500 to 750 to stay afloat. LML had been one of the few automobile manufacturers who had been adversely affected by the Labour Unions, to the point where production came to a standstill. This will be a herculean challenge for LML to make a successful comeback, with the entrenched competition of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, TVS and even Mahindra.

Would a scooter from LML be able to capture the imagination of the market? Only time will tell.
