  • Activa 125 brochure leaked...Launch may happen soon...

It was at the Auto Expo 2014 when Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese two wheelers giant unveiled the upcoming Honda Activa 125 cc variant. Now, the Honda Activa 125 brochure has leaked on the cyber space and seen on this page are some Honda Activa 125 brochure images that surfaced on the web world earlier today. It is being expected that the new Honda Activa 125 launch will happen sometime in next three months.

    Topic Approved.

The last time a rumor of Activa 125 was heard, it turned out to be Activa-i. A pink color themed image of a pair of wings with a Honda invitation to a press event was doing the rounds on the internet. Later on, it turned out to be Activa-i which was basically the 3rd generation Activa engine, displacing the same 109cc from the 2nd generation engine, but with few improvements that made it slightly torquier, more frugal & lighter.

But, it seems there was an Activa 125 within the R&D all this time, probably that's why the rumors were panning out, in the past.

Although, the English used in the manuals is not semantically perfect. So, I still doubt whether we can blindly rely on these leaked brochures.

They could have extracted atleast 9 bhp from 125cc engine.

            Yeah...you are right.
8.5bhp from a 125cc is motor is not cool at all as per today's standards. All in all they upgraded it with .5 bhp but torque has been increased by good amount. I think honda knows that 90% of Indian public relates cc to power as they are not aware of term called bhp.

I personally feel Vespa is the best. 10 bhp and 10.6 NM torque + the looks. Its cost is the huge disadvantage thou.

For a gear-less scooter we don't need much bhp than torque. These are going to spend their time in bumper to bumper traffic. In that case the engine need torque for zippy & fun ride. When you find some open space, gun down the throttle. Been using access & dio(100cc) for almost 4 years.

Vespa is a retro scooter which is aimed for who prefer lifestyle statement. I took a test ride of vespa vx for a short spin. The low end torque is not good enough to mull around. once you open it up, you could feel the power/torque. Though i am not a big fan of vespa.

I wonder what will be the weight of activa 125 would be. If it's below 110 kgs, You got a better scooter.
