Doesn't look like is going to be a big hit. After the original CD100 the only bike to really sell was Splendor. All other bikes on the CD 100 platform have sort of failed. CD100SS, Sleek, Joy, Dawn, Street, Passion, Super Splendor, Glamour, Splendor NXG, CD Deluxe have never been able to capture the market.

Well they kinda did incorporate the technology on a regular splendor. Also, of the bikes you mentioned only sleek, joy were failures. Dawn was moderately successful and all others sold very well actually.

True. Plus I think it would waste much more fuel starting up every time. Also the engine only turns off while idling, but most people in India have the habit of revving the bike endlessly at trafic lights. And what if the sensor that disengages the starter from clutch failed? then bike would just keep cranking every time the clutch is pulled. And imagine stopping at a gap in meridian to take a u-turn. The bike would stop just as you were about to pull out.

I think this system would just be a nuisance. There ultimately is no substitute for common sense and intelligence.
