Road Safety Cyclothon highlights the importance of using cycle reflectors.
In an initiative to create awareness about road safety and to highlight the importance of using cycle reflectors, Firefox Bikes supported the Road Safety Cyclothon with International Road Federation and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in association with Delhi Police on Sunday. Over hundreds of environment cautious riders participated in the Cyclothon from Vinay Marg, Chankyapuri.
Road accident deaths in India number the highest in the world. Many of these deaths are attributable to poor road visibility of cyclists. The Road Safety Cyclothon was flagged off by Olympian Wrestler Sushil Kumar.

The Cyclothon was initiated to highlight the importance of reflective tapes, on bicycles to enhance their visibility in particular during low light / night time. While cycling the rider needs to keep safety measures i.e. to wear helmets, wear protective pads on elbows and knees, ride on the left side of the road, ride at a safe speed, always keep an eye for traffic signals, road signs and road marking and use of reflectors is most important.
Road Safety Cyclothon was organized with an endeavor to inculcate the awareness about the positive effects of cycling as a mode of transport and benefits that will accrue to both, the cyclists and the city keeping in mind the safety measures and to save the environment from pollution.
