  • 2014 Honda CBR250R Updated With More Power In Indonesia

The Honda CBR250R is a motorcycle loved by many enthusiasts. The baby CBR, which is a global product sells in good numbers in many Asian markets. Now Honda has updated the CBR250R and bumped up its power along with giving it other cosmetic changes. The design of this bike is now a bit inspired by its elder sibling, the CBR1000RR. The update on the CBR comes as a bid to give tougher competition to rivals since this particular segment is witnessing a huge growth in sales all over. The new Honda CBR205R gives improved performance, better looks and enhanced dynamics, the company claims. The new Honda CBR205R comes with dual-barrel headlights which look very striking. The front, side and rear fairings are redesigned and they make the bike look sharper now. The exhaust muffler is chrome plated which looks good but we think black chrome would have looked killer. The CBR250R is powered by a single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve 250cc engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine has been given an increase in output, producing 29 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 23 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. The motor is also tuned for better fuel efficiency of up to 0.9 km/l more than the previous model bringing the overall fuel consumption to 50.1 km/l as claimed by the company (Indonesia cycle). The new Honda CBR250R also comes with an improved ABS which provides better control for the rider on slippery roads or sudden braking conditions. Honda has also incorporated a Pro-Link suspension system which gives the rider the ability to adjust its stiffness to suit personal requirements. The seat is designed to feel much softer now and the distance at which the footrest has been placed has also been changed in the updated version. The pillion also sits at a different angle now making the rider feel more comfortable. The Honda CBR250R was launched in 2011 and it received a great response everywhere. The CBR250R competes with the KTM Duke 200 and RC 200, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R15 in India. The upcoming Yamaha R25 is surely going to provide some tough competition to the baby Ceeber. Presently the Honda CBR250R is priced from Rs. 1.61 lakhs to Rs. 1.97 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and we can expect the prices to be jacked up when Honda replaces the 250R with the CBR300R in the domestic market.

Strange! It wasn't the case when I approved it in the morning. Also, xBhp servers are getting timed out for me, resulting in improper formatting.

Request @The Monk to take control and align the pics and text.

        EDIT - Done!

It could very well. 250R is 29PS, 300 is 31PS. Then why 300 ? Just a 2 PS difference and looks exactly the same

Would be interesting to see if the same trend continues launching the extra "horses" CBR 250R in the Indian and world market. 3 bhp upgrade should result in a good bump in the mid range and top end. Though would like to reserve my comments till we see some road tests done with the new model soon.

Slowly but steadily good times are trickling in for the Indian motorcycle enthusiasts

Hope to see a lot more launches taking place soon...

              Cheers,

They might as well launch 500 series here (India) which will be a good fight against Ninja series.

I don't see many people buying just for 2-3 PS upgrade.

Why not a 300cc and straight competition with N300 ??

Why again late standard for us!
