Harley Davidson recalled 66000 motorcycles after 5 crashes were reported due to the front wheel locking up. The 2014 Touring and CVO-Touring with ABS are the affected models that are being recalled. The affected bikes have the brake line fitted incorrectly which gets pressed between the handlebar and tank, resulting in excess fluid being pushed to the callipers and causing the front wheel to lock up. The bikes being recalled were produced between 1st July 2013 to 7th May 2014.
As part of the recall, Harley-Davidson dealers will install cable straps free of charge to prevent the brake hoses from being pinched.
Affected models: FLHTK, FLHTKSE, FLHTKSHRINE, FLHTCU, FLHTCUTC, FLHTP, FLHX, FLXHS, FLHXSHRINE, FLHR, FLHRC, FLHP, FLHRSE.
