Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has stopped 'regular' production of the Honda Stunner for the Indian market.
Honda have stopped regular production of the Honda Stunner because of a dearth of sales and demand for this motorcycle. The company will only produce the bike on order from dealers. But dealers are not interested in ordering the Honda Stunner, because of the lack of demand for this 125cc. Some have even stated that they have not got any Stunners for the last three months.
Honda had placed the bike in a new segment in the market, that of a sporty youth oriented bike in the smaller capacity market. Unfortunately the motorcycle enthusiasts in the market consider 125cc to be too less for it to be considered sporty enough, while the price of the Stunner placed it far ahead of the other motorcycles in the same engine capacity segment.
Though with Honda's ever growing sales in the Indian two wheeler market in terms of market share and absolute sales, the company will not be too perturbed with the loss of the Honda Stunner.
