Hero MotoCorp, India's largest maker of motorcycles and scooters, said on Monday August sales rose 21% from a year earlier to 558,609 units. The company sold 459,996 units in August 2013.
TVS Motor Company on Monday reported a 47% increase in its total two wheeler sales at 2,17,662 units in August 2014. The Chennai-based company had sold 1,48,469 units in the same month last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,90,547 units last month, up 50 per cent, from 1,27,095 units in the year-ago period, it added. Scooters sales during the month grew by 84 per cent to 67,240 units in August 2014 as against 36,478 units in the corresponding month last year. Motorcycles sales grew by 36 per cent to 83,332 units in last month as compared to 61,313 units in the corresponding month a year earlier. Exports in August grew by 28 per cent to 35,074 units in the month as compared to 27,425 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.
Royal Enfield reported a 66% increase in Sales in August 2014 which stood at 26643 units. The company had sold 16062 units in August 2013. Domestic sales during the month stood at 26,121 units as against 15,708 units in August last year, up 66 per cent. Exports during last month were at 522 units as against 354 units in the year-ago period
Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. (MTWL), announced its sales numbers for August 2014, which stood at 12598 units. The company’s domestic sales stood at 11,178 units during the month, while exports for the month stood at 1420 units. A 13% increase for the company.
Bajaj Auto Limited said that it sold 2,84,302 motorcycles during August 2014 as compared to 2,78,583 motorcycles during August last year, a 2 per cent growth.
Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported 25.68 per cent growth in total sales for August at 3,88,210 units. The company's total sales stood at 3,08,881 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Yamaha Motor India today reported 24 per cent increase in domestic two-wheeler sales at 53,242 units in August. It had sold 42,995 units in the same month last year.
