  • Michael Schumacher crashes his Honda CBR Fireblade!

Seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher suffered minor injuries in a motorbike accident in Spain on Wednesday.

According to reports, Schumacher was testing his Honda 1000 CBR-Fireblade at a racetrack in Cartagena when the accident happened and was taken to hospital.
"Today I had an accident at the biking tests in Cartagena, and to be safe I went to a hospital," the seven times world champion said on his official website.
"The checks showed nothing and I just wanted to say that I am fine."
The doctors diagnosed a mild concussion, while Schumacher himself complained of pain in his right wrist, according to a report in Cologne's Express newspaper.
His team boss Jens Holzhauer told the paper: "This was not as bad as it sounds. It was a harmless slip and a quite normal training fall. He will still fly home this evening."
A spokesman for the Virgen de Arrixaca Hospital in the nearby city of Murcia confirmed he had been taken to the hospital but was not able to provide information regarding the extend of his injuries.

The news article says and I quote:

'His team boss Jens Holzhauer told the paper: "This was not as bad as it sounds. It was a harmless slip and a quite normal training fall."'

Going by the above, it just seems he sorely missed two extra wheels! Anyhow, everything is well that ends well.

Wasnt there a HUGE article about Christiano crashing his GT sometime back..? Strictly in the above sense, I wonder what he tried... chipping or curving the gas pedal...

I guess riders always fall during training then

Me a retro-Schumi fan(satyen thanks for coining the term) too.

But the article says, team boss?? IS Schumi competing officially in some bike races??

Id read that he was testing for Tenkate Hanspree Honda. Not sure if he's competing though.

As for all you skeptics (Primarily Sunny and Dada ), he's supposed to be pretty quick on the 'Blade

Well lucky for Schumi that there are no cost cutting measures being taken in the 2-wheeler circuit, or else he would have to fore-go testing for Honda as well just as how he decided not to test the Ferrari F-60

Well i think it's a big thing for a F1 stalwart to be able to cross-over and be able to handle a superbike in the first place, like someone said earlier he had already ridden an 2008 Tenkate Hanspree CBR1000 and that in itself is a feat, so i'm quite reassured to find he is safe, but i'm all for the guy looking for new avenues to expand his unbeatable talent on wheels, Same goes for Rossi i mean to be able to even ride a full blown WRC Subaru (I think) is great thing, negating the fact that he flipped it over half way through the stage :-p
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

Regardless. He seems to be alive enough to be able to ride in the MotoGP seasons, so I'll give him the pat on the back.
