HMSI sold 1.65 lakh two wheelers this Dhanteras, while HMC only managed 1.5 lakh two wheeler sales. These figures are according to NDTV and BSE. HMC stated that sales for the company grew by 40-50% this Dhanteras as compared to 2013. Sales for the festive season also ensured that Auto Stocks jumped on the bourses.
When HMSI parted ways with Hero MotoCorp in 2010, it had just one factory in Manesar. Last week, the Japanese major laid the foundation stone for its fourth plant in Gujarat.
In fiscal year 2013-14, HMSI clocked 36.50 per cent year-on-year growth in volumes as against Hero MotoCorp's volume growth of 3.43 per cent, according to SIAM data.
