The valley Run-2015 is being held on 10th and 11th January at the usual venue i.e. Aamby Valley City.
The Valley Run was started in 2013 with an intention to promote Drag Racing as a form of Motorsport, and since then it is held every year in the month of January at Aamby Valley City Airport Runway. It is organized by Elite Octane Inc. Every year the number of participants and spectators keep on increasing. This is India's biggest and FMSCI Approved Drag racing Event. A large number of Bikes and Cars participate in various categories.
Last year's event was a huge success, in which the star attraction was Rickey Gadson (10 times world drag racing champion and kawasaki factory backed rider). On a ZX-14R he achieved a timing of 9.8 secs, which is the quickest quarter mile time in All India till date and is also very good even by international standards.

A Drag Race is a timed race, in which the time taken to complete a distance of 400 Mtr.s is recorded and the winner is the one with quickest time.
This year's Valley Run is also very exciting. Apart from regular things, at least 3-4 female riders have participated in various categories of bikes. There is also a 6 year old kid, who although will not be racing, but will be doing an exhibition run.
Day-1 (10th January 2015, Saturday)
First day was fully dedicated to bikes only, and various contestants participated in racing. The motorcycles were divided into following classes -->
M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7, Indian Open Class & Indian bikes wheelie class. M1 being the smallest engine size i.e. 100 CC and M7 being 1000 CC (Litre class).
It all starts here, at the starting line -
and ends here, at the finish line -
the Christmas Tree Staging Lights at the starting line, you can only feel it, if you experience it in person, when the lights glow one after another and at green light the riders on their machines takes off and aim for the finish line at frantic pace-
and the result gets recorded -
the dragstrip -
and so it begins...
bikers lined up for scrutiny -
the hub of all activities, the starting point -
spectator stands, media stands etc --
and now bikes and racing --
number of pics limit reached, lots and lots of pics coming up, stay tuned.
I am trying to do justice to the event to the best of my abilities, limited by my amateur like photography skills and a humble non-DSLR camera, but inspired by the superb photography skill of fellow xBhpians.
Note: Got confused as to whether start this thread in "News" section or "Motorsport" section as this time xbhp is officially covering the event. Moderators do the needful and thanks for the opportunity.
I have tried to cover all the riders and all the races, so lots of pics coming up .....
