Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a 12% decline in total motorcycle sales in January at 246,955 units against 281,390 units posted in the same month last year. Exports grew 4% during the reporting month at 142,992 units as compared to 137,644 last January.
Yamaha Motor India reported 20.82% rise in domestic two-wheeler sales at 39,309 units in January. The company had sold 32,534 units in the corresponding month last year.
Roy Kurian, Yamaha India, Sales & Marketing Vice President said:
TVS Motor Company total sales grew 1.2% to 1.88 lakh units in January from 1.86 lakh units sold in the year-ago month. Two-wheeler sales (the major contributor to total sales) stood at 1.81 lakh units, a growth of 1.1% compared to 1.71 lakh units in same month last year. However, exports declined 13.3% year-on-year to 25,029 units in the month gone by.
Royal Enfield Two Wheelers reported a hike of 43% in total sales in January this year at 28,927 units against 20,232 units in the year ago period. Domestic sales have also moved forward by 42% at 28,157 units last month against 19,808 units in January 2014.
