  • Honda launches CBR1000RR & CB1000R

The wait is over fall all Honda fans!

NEW DELHI: Aiming to capture a bigger share in the Indian two-wheeler market, Japanese bike maker Honda will invest Rs 300 crore in the next three years for expanding its production capacities and launching new models.

Notwithstanding the slowdown in the auto market, the company today launched two super bikes - CB1000R and CBR1000RR - in India, priced between Rs 9.5 lakh and Rs 12.5 lakh. It will also introduce a 100cc motorcycle here within a year.

"Honda has a strong vision for Indian market and will look for opportunities in this challenging times. We will invest Rs 300 crore in the next three years for launching new products and expanding capacities of our plant,'' Honda Motorcycle & Scooter Ind ia (HMSI) President and CEO, Mr Shinji Aoyama told reporters here.

The company, which has a production facility at Manesar, has so far invested Rs 900 crore in the country, he added. HMSI would introduce a 100cc bike targeting the mass market within a year, he said.

"Before the 100cc bike, we will launch various variants of the existing models as well as new models too,'' he said. He, however, declined to give details about the future launches.
