Re: Royal Enfield acquires Harris Performance Products
The second I saw the news title, I was like, "What a masterstroke by Royal Enfield". Indeed it is.
Some of you might know the Harris group.
Harris was once in collaboration with WCM.
WCM is a Racing team that did well in the 2 stroke MotoGP era. When MotoGP turned mix (2s 500 and 4s 990 running together), WCM continued to use an earlier 2 stroke.
It was then that WCM partnered with Harris for chassis and other parts. By then it was 2004 or 05 and the Grid was all 4 stroke.
They started with some Yamaha M1 or R1 engine (don't remember). It was disqualified initially, creating court cases and controversies one after another...
Finally, WCM Harris did get their MotoGP bike on the track.... It was clearly the most inferior bike overall, but imagine... it was after all... a MotoGP bike.
Now all these facts are from my memory, mostly right, but maybe not pin point accurate. But it gives an idea of what Harris is...
So, Harris is an amazing group and Royal Enfield is really going the right way...
But what reaction Harris engineers might give, on seeing the Royal Enfield of today... Imagine.

Now that's definitely a good news. I think this collaboration will help RE in their upcoming products.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
