Bajaj is currently producing close to 91000 units per month from its Chakan fascilities and plans to increase the production capacity for the Pulsar series. The three plants of Bajaj have a production capacity of 3.25 Lakh units per month. Sales for the entry level 100cc bikes have been steadily declining and the company is keeping a wary eye on this segment to change their production capacity.

The Pulsar series on the other hand has kept the Pune based firm optimistic with the recent launches of the Pulsar RS200, AS200 and AS150. The future sees another Pulsar being launched in the next couple of months, while the bigger Pulsars, the 375cc bikes are expected to be available later in this calendar year.

    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I've been to Chakan plant in December 2013, as some of you might remember, and I even posted a report with pics here.

The Chakan plant manufactures only performance motorcycle series like Duke, Pulsar, RC, Ninja, etc.
The Discover is being made at Waluj, Aurangabad, which is a different city.

There could be 2 major reasons for this, I think:

      1. The performance motorcycles of Bajaj are seeing an increase in demand... that's why they want to ramp up the supply.

      2. It is also a sign that there may be more performance motorcycles in store, and hence, they're planning in advance.

However, there's no lackage of space at Chakan.
On the contrary, there's a lot of land which can be used for this expansion. Wish Bajaj all the best for this expansion.

Its been 1 and a half month since my brother got his loan cleared for a pulsar rs yellow non abs and still no sign of it and the worst part is bajaj keeps on sending lots of red pulsar rs abs and non abs versions, like they are rubbing salt on wounds of eagerly waiting customers.

Maybe they are planning to cut down on the waiting period of performance bikes. Also, the P400 series is on the pipeline. So, they had to increase production at some point of time.
