    Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F Launched in India: xBhp News

    Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), introduced two new motorcycles today – The GSX-S1000, a naked roadster and the GSX-S1000F, its fully faired version. The two siblings, which are the latest entrants in the international stable of Suzuki Motorcycle Corporation, have sharp styling and power as well as everyday usage and practicality.

    The GSX-S siblings are just perfect for those who want a street bike with the soul of a GSX-R. Both GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F have inherited the legendary engine of the GSX-R1000, advanced & lightweight chassis, switchable 3-mode traction control system, 43mm inverted KYB forks, radial mount monobloc brembo brakes and an easy to read instrument cluster displaying an array of comprehensive information. All these advanced technologies come together to give you a pure sport roadster.

    The Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F are both available in two colours – Candy Daring Red / Glass Sparkle Black – AV4 and Metallic Triton Blue – YSF and are priced at Rs.1,225,000 and 1,270,000 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi), respectively.

      Looks like Triumph might start loosing its customer base with such competition !
      Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.

          Great !! At last the manufacturers are looking upto us a potential market and launching their global products - truly the golden era of motorcycling in India.

            I also wish if these international Manufacturers also bring some "usable" vehicles according to the country they target. Not all the buyers will hit the track every weekend to tune their skill or nor we have the infrastructure to use all the power from these machine.

            I hope they do really understand the market and launch such vehicles rather than just planting foot on a developing country and tick one off their list.

              They brought the Inazuma, didn't they?
              They even reduced the price by 1L and refunded buyers from initial batches. Poor sales ensured they pulled the plug. The fact is, they incurred huge losses on it.

                But Inazuma is not people's choice, so why not bring like detuned GSX750 for Asian markets. Very few find Zuma appealing, nothing wrong with it. But with growing popularity among people in SBK area, why not bring a smaller cap engine with I-4 and make it road friendly.

                  Hmm. Sub 800 cc is a grey area for me. I guess there are some taxation issues. Maybe localization would be the way to go. But then most 600-750 supersports develop power high up the rev range. How would they help street riding in their stock form? Detuning them just for India won't be profitable no?

                    launching liter class sbks is good but Suzuki should launch bikes in between 250-500cc range..Inazuma was not a looker.

                      They have got good response for the Gixxer. That confidence coupled with the success of Triumph and Benelli must have inspired Suzuki. Nevertheless, prospective SBK owners in India now have two reasons less to complain!

                        Why wouldnt it be profitable DS, CKD or make it 50% (max) localisation, you get a good probabilty to price it under 4L, which will definitely attract hell load of people. If you were given a choice to choose a sub 600cc I-4 or parallel or V twin for the same price...where else you would go.

                          If I were given a choice for a 600-750cc mill, it would purely depend upon my usage. I might actually opt for the v twin because it would any day have more torque in the usable rev range. Inline 4s would have very peaky figures. I would prefer more torque and less hp. 100 Nm and 75ish hp is good enough!
