Dudezzz Any 1 in india has a R1 go find a mechanic first - he he he he ......
i think u r new to this site.. dere r abt 4-5 R1s alone in north india,3 being in delhi n 1 in jallandar (nannu).. in total dere may be around 15+ R1s atleast in india..
i think a person who will be spendin 10lakhs on a bike will definately search for a nice mechanic to match the bike.
my cousin has to regularly get the bike to delhi from jallandar coz dere is not a good mechanic in punjab..
dese r d probs associated with importin big machines.
its better if companies started gettin in CBUs demselves, atleast dey wud provide proper service backup atleast

2004 R1s with clutch probs , earlier R1s whose footpegs break off when doing stunts - Yamaha is making things too light ( and too weak ) in their bid to reduce weight of sportbikes .

While no bike/car is 100% problem free , after paying $10000 , it's very disappointing to discover such trivial engineering problems from higly skilled and experienced techies .

Maybe it's time they started overengineering bikes like German cars ? That's my philosophy - overdo somethings that are essential fr safety and reliability . TVS , HHML , YNIL , got any jobs for entertrising guys ?
Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.
