I am surprised to realize that RE routinely sells more two wheelers than Suzuki.

We know about the RE craze going on in the country. But Suzuki is definitely the dark-horse here. If they continue to launch good products and grow up the performance ladder, sure they will come as a lead competitor to dent somebody else businnes, if not a leader.

So, Suzuki is following the exact same path, that Yamaha was on, 5 years back. It should now stop concentrating on commuter bikes and only focus on 150cc+ and Scooters. Not to forget, the no. Of Suzuki showrooms are much less than Yamaha. Please drop those hideous l00ccs from your listing.

It is surprising, more so, for Suzuki's figures being less. A giant like Suzuki isn't expected this low numbers. Of course, situation is improving with latest launches like Gixxer, etc but they need products that are different and better from the rest of the market...

Take a look at the top 4 sellers in the above list: Do they have different products? Yes. They do... In a way or other, they offer products that have a specialty.

As far as Royal Enfield is concerned, for some more time atleast, they can sell all that they can produce...
With a waiting period of still more than 6 months, they have no short term worries...
In Long term, its a different story though.

I might add it for next time. However, Pie charts have poor inter-comparability. So, if 2 companies have 34.5% and 33%, they will seem to occupy a similar share, unless I mention the numbers specifically.

A bar diagram in my opinion suits this data better. But will consider it.

Time for Hero to sit up and take notice. Yes, they still have high numbers but going by the figures, they might go negative!
And a very good job by RE compared to where they were a couple of years back.

Still it is crazy that despite having products squarely aimed at the mass market like the Access, Slingshot, Hayate and GS150R they still can't manage to sell more than RE.

Apparently, people prefer old neighbours who they despise over any new friendly strangers! Despite Suzuki's presence in the market over several decades, they still remained strangers.

Suzuki tried its luck in mass-market, they might very well try a hand in niche-market.
