Race 1 Report
Chaz Davies has taken his second World Superbike Championship win of the season with a commanding lights-to-flag victory in the first race of the day at Laguna Seca, Starting from his first-ever WSBK pole position, Davies made no mistakes from the lights to lead into the opening bend before steadily developing his advantage over the chasing Kawasakis of Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea as they tussled for the remaining podium positions.
Indeed, Davies was never realistically challenged as he quickly broke the slipstream of the bikes behind over the opening revolutions, before being allowed to escape further as the race progressed.
Davies lead certainly helped kawasaki Racing team-mates Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea building up battle behind. Getting good starts from the second row, Sykes and Rea held station for the opening half of the race, but Sykes would begin to put pressure on his team-mate during the latter half.
Proceeding to keep it tidy all the way to the chequered flag, Sykes's efforts were enough to earn him second position, with Reathird.

Race 2 Report
Chaz Davies has swept to his second World Superbike Championship win of the day at Laguna Seca as he notched up a truly dominant double win on American soil.
Having led from lights-to-flag in race one on the Aruba.it Ducati, he produced a mirror image performance in the second encounter, grabbing the lead from the start and steadily increasing his margin to the chequered flag.
A landmark day for Davies to consolidate his newfound third position in the overall standings, it also marks the first double WSBK win for a Ducati rider since Carlos Checa at Imola in 2012.
With Davies escaping into the distance, it was the fight for second place between the Kawasaki team-mates of Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea that would provide the race with its entertainment, the pair picking up where they left off from race one as they diced for the remaining podium spots.
Sykes made repeated attempts to pull away from Rea. However, Rea's best chance would ultimately occur early on when Sykes almost lost the rear of the ZX-10RLeon Haslam rallied with the Kawasakis initially before fading into the clutches of his Aprilia team-mate Jordi Torres, who duly got the better of his more experienced counterpart to snatch fourth in the closing stages.
After being forced to retire from race one, Ayrton Badovini made some amends with a fine ride to sixth on the BMW Italia, ahead of Michael van der Mark, who was forced to fly the flag for PATA Honda after team-mate Sylvain Guintoli retired in an unusual circumstances, the Frenchman getting crossed up with Alex Lowes as the Suzuki rider unexpectedly peeled left into the pit-lane, just as his unawares rival was lining up a pass into the ensuing corner.
