Suzuki has decided to recall and fit new components in the motorcycles to avoid any potential issues in future. However, no safety issues have been reported till now.
Customers affected with officially imported and registered machines will receive a letter from Suzuki, advising them to contact their local authorized Suzuki dealership, who will carry out the fitment of the new component free of charge. The work will take less than one hour to complete.
Suzuki has also recalled its VZR1800 (Boulevard M109R) manufactured from March 1, 2012 to April 21, 2015 in America due to faulty accessory backrest mounting hardware kits. The affected motorcycles are installed with bolts that are too long, the mounting bolts may contact the rear tire, causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will correct the mounting hardware as needed.
Bikes in India may also be affected as these motorcycles enter India via the CBU route.
