  • BREMBO NOW has stakes in KBX

    when did this happen??

KBX Motorbike Products Private Ltd who supplies 50% of the brake market in India is now partially owned by Italian brake systems manufacturer Brembo. The company based in Pune currently supply Bajaj, Hero Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Royal Enfield to name but a few. This is not a new venture for Brembo though, having established a base in India in 2007, but does allow the Italian firm to expand business in the region.

this is great news for the guys at KBX. KBX has saved many of our lives over the years. and now with Brembo they will save even more...

      Interesting news there, soulstation.
source? Did brembo buy a major stake? that would improve the quailty of products even more.
as for saving lives, the kbx on the pulsar would not really fit that role! *cough*abrupt bike, front lockup*cough*

It would be great if they bring the Brembo disc plate which used to come on the RXZ.

KBX had a tech tie up with Brembo since long.

Pradep, the RXZ brake disc was not Brembo it was Sunstar. Sunstar is not well known as the Brembo but still a quality foreign company.

Guys, KBX (Kalyani Brakes) was a 50:50 JV of Bosch & Brembo.

Around September 2008 Brembo bought over Bosch's stake and now KBX is a 100% subsidiary of Brembo.

Very soon, KBX would be renamed to BreCo - to represent BREmbo COmpany and Brembo brand would be used for high end applications only.

If you want confirmations please search for KBX related news say on economictimes.

Wait, I had a book mark - Brembo set to fortify its position in India- Auto-The Economic Times

Overkill: Yes precisely! Cause every one would be dabbing the front brake lever, getting tossed OVER and KILLED.

Waise bhi R15 pe sekdo jan stoppies karte hai.. heehee

World Renowned brake manufacturer, Brembo , has recently inaugurated a new plant in chakan, outside pune. The new facility is set to manufacture disc brake systems under the brand name Breco to cater the requirements of two wheeler maufacturers.

Breco will specifically target the BRIC and ASEAN markets including India, where it will replace the KBX brand. Breco will provide braking systems for small to medium displacement scooters and motorcycles.

^^^ well, they hinted abt that in the press release that I gave a link to earlier. Read that article for the full story of how KBX started & now ended up with Breco.

Brembo is known for very high end braking systems for luxury cars, SBK's and racing bikes / cars.

They wouldn't want to dilute that brand image by making brake systems for small motorcycles too... hence the derivation BreCo which is nothing but BREmbo COmpany.
