    News Approved.

Yes, the models have disappeared from Yamaha's website. Discontinuing SS125 was a surprise, but I guess, times change. They need to focus on newer motorcycle models, and scooters too.

Well thats a good news, it means Yamaha is planning something new to bring. As it is they had to focus on scooters till 2015, which they did now its time for motorcycles.... So lets wait and watch

I have been wanting to own a motorcycle for the past 7yrs. Due to "reasons"I still dont own any.

Is it possible that these bikes will be sold at discounted prices? I stay in Bangalore and my favorite motorcycle is Yamaha RD 350.

          Cheers.

Yes the stocks available with the showroom can be bargained for, but not now as the market may not be aware that these have been dis-continued, ask about in a months time from the showroom and I think they will give you good discount to get these bike off their chest.

Nah. It was for Yamaha for stopping the Gladiator, and launching celery, for which nobody even cares.

Yeah Gladiator was a good vehicle but if my insider news is correct then we have few good launches by Auto Expo. So till then can just wait n watch, Patience is the word......

I somewhat echo your feelings. It's very disappointing to see the Gladiator getting discontinued. It was probably the best 125cc in India. But got a stepmom like treatment from Yamaha. No advertisements, no interest to sell - and finally they have got rid of it. The YBR twins were also brilliant machines. Saluto might well have the potential but everybody does not have the same requirements. Even if Yamaha plans to bring in some new commuters, that will take time. And that could prove fatal in this age of competition.

Feel sad for the SS125. It was an excellent bike and for a long time standing as one of the best 125cc bikes in India.
Having owned a Gladiator, I can say with confidence that it did have significant scope and Yamaha could have refreshed the SS125 with a more efficient engine and better looks (read: new panels and body works, no sticker jobs) The new 125cc from Yamaha was a severe disappointment as it was actually a downgrade!

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

No wonder why the salesman at the Yamaha showrrom was keen to sell the SS125 vehicle to us and my dad fell for it. Good lord he wanted R15 or FZ v2.
