    DSK Benelli aims to sell 4,000 bikes in India this fiscal: xBhp News

    DSK Motowheels is planning to sell 4,000 units of its Italial brand Benelli in current fiscal.plans to double the strength of its outlets.

    DSK Motowheels is also planning to expand its product portfolio by introducing a 250cc bike by the end of December this year.

    Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman DSK Motowheels, said:
    We are targeting to sell 4,000 superbikes in 2015-16. The market for superbikes in India is growing at a phenomenal pace of 50 per cent per annum. We expect the market size for superbikes (price range starts from Rs 2.50 lakh a unit) will go up to 15,000 units in current fiscal as people in India like to have quality and premium product.
    DSK Motowheels is also planning to open 14 more outlets of Benelli across India at places like Goa, Surat, Vishakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Nagpur and by the end of this fiscal they'll be having total 25 outlets.

      I guess with the rate at which bookings and deliveries being done. It should be a feat achievable. But I doubt on the number 4k. We have seen recently when the few outlets celebrated their 100th vehicle delivery mark. But with less outlets in the country as on date and few being set-up currently for sales, it should be achievable by 2016 end.

        It is good that DSK Benelli is serious this time. Hope they achieve it. My bike is already in the 4k bikes

          If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. The whole market for bikes above 500cc discounting royal enfields, is around 6k. Hopefully it increases further. But capturing a big pie of that market is going to very tough.

          I understand, that this figure includes 250cc and 300cc. But the competition is even more there, with the yamaha, tvs-bmw bikes coming, it is only going to get tougher.

          But all said and done, Benelli has for sure a great marketing team this time. Hope the fad doesn't fade away like with Hyosung.

            Good to see them dreaming big. With the kind of start they have got, it's very much possible. 333 units/month is achievable. They have to increase their presence in tier-2 cities imo.
            A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

              I think Bajaj Probiking has got this thing worked out. I'd think Benelli could sell 1k bikes a year from their range in Kerala alone if they had that kind of setup going. Plenty of kids with rich parents around.
