  • BMW S1000R launched in India at 22.83 lakh (ex-Mumbai)

BMW has now brought the S1000R to India, a street-naked motorcycle that looks like a stripped-off version of the S1000RR, posing an aggressive stance with asymmetrical dual headlights typical of BMW. Overall styling inspired from its race version, the S1000RR, remains unchanged, except for the radiator shrouds that replace the fairing, partly covering the engine.

my class mate is getting this bike. he already owns the K1300 and the S1000 RR. I rode the K1300 and was blown away with power across the band and handling

Good news, it's looks like finally the Indian motorcycling is coming of age. This looks great except for those asymmetrical headlights, wonder what purpose they serve.

I think for now I'll just do by watching RoyalJordanian on YouTube with his Nuda and the S1000R.

But there is a beauty to that weirdness that drives people wild. Kinda like a cult following thing.

And that is more to do with the beauty of engineering rather than aesthetics.

Yep........ Couldn't have said it better. Its just like how I love my duke390 but hate how it looks. Its the ride that makes it worth it. And trust me, more weird looking the bike, the more looks of envy and curiosity you'll get.

                        why would somebody want a s1000r after having a s1000rr ??
an aprilia would have been a far better choice at the price point... damn.. its a v4...

Since he s my classmate , he s my same age -) 55yrs. S1000 rr can get weary after two hours on the highway in my age group. He reccomended me to take the daytona as he felt it was nothin less spectacular than the S1000 rr but less power( of course it does not have all the gadgets ) . I found it a pain in the neck after two hours. for me its a naked bike. He apparently will sell the K 1300 and buy this new bike. ive settled for the Z800

From the specs, it looks like performance wise it can be one of the best.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
