  • Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF rear disk variants launch soon!

Gixxer and gixxer sf were caught testing with a rear disk brake near ncr.
Gixxer sf was launched it april and faced a lot of criticism over the non availability of rear disk even as an option.
    Festive season launch expected

    News Approved.

Last month, Suzuki achieved the biggest sales growth, compared to the same month last year. It was 68% growth.
If they could launch this option of Gixxer SF, they might just end up having a similarly splendid growth, in the festive months too.

And continuation of such growth figures, will no doubt help them move up the sales ranks and catching up to the competition, but due to their next target being Royal Enfield which is showing similarly good growth, it could take some(a lot?) more time.. Wish them all the best.

That's a welcome move. A rear disc is always welcome due to safety purpose. Adds a value addition too!

Of the Japanese trio, The Hornet 160R is the first in the segment to offer both front/rear discs?

Glad to see that manufacturers are now taking action based on customer feedback. This one and Yamaha R15V2S.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF rear disk variants launch soon!

I checked with the Suzuki SVC where I take my Gixxer SF and they said that it is possible to upgrade the read brake to disc brake for existing bikes, however the cost will be around Rs10000!!!!

They said factory manufactured new bikes are cheaper due to being mass produced, whereas if you change the pasrts on your bike a lot of things will have to be changed.

And they said it will come next month.

Gixxer is now one of the most famous bikes in india and with this simple yet realistic move they will get a lot more new customer as well. But I think they should do something for the recent buyers who wants the rear brake upgrade as this upgrade is purely based on customers feedback.

True. As this upgrade from suzuki will put gixxer ahead of the yamaha fzs v2.
