    Jorge Lorenzo coming to BIC, Noida on 1st Dec, 2015 to ride a YZF R3

    MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo is coming to India, more specifically to Buddhh International Circuit to ride the recently launched YZF R3.

    The date is 1st December, 2015. Lorenzo will meet the owners of YZF R3 & race with them. You have to buy a YZF R3 before 10 November to enroll as a rider.
    If you haven't bought a YZF R3 yet, you can "register" to get an exclusive opportunity to test ride the R3 on the BIC.

    The YZF R3 is a much awaited high performance sportsbike for the Indian market, and it directly competes against Kawasaki Ninja 300 and against KTM RC 390 & Kawasaki Z250 indirectly.
    A true Ace of the Race, it extracts 42 PS of power from the inline twin cylinder with a 180* crank, and with a highly rigid steel diamond frame, you're sure to go fast and low through corners too.

    So Xbhpians, if you want to meet Lorenzo or test ride the YZF R3 or both, click on the source link below and click on "EVENT" Tab to register yourself for the event.
    I suspect the registrations might close if they have too many entries, so just do it now if you want to.

      Any idea as to what tyres were these R3s running on at BIC? Doesn't look stock MRF!

        After looking at the picture of Lorenzo on the R3, it just hit me; just look at the size of the bike and the guy! He is so lean and slim! The physical fitness, power and endurance the guy must have is something amazing. By the way, if I am not wrong, he had second degree burns due to coolant spill on his leg. That was about a month or month and half back. Something that would handicap most of us for sometime if not lay us down. Yet here he is for the event.

          These are the MRF RevZ tyres. The ones you get on the Duke 200.

            The track was wet due to afternoon rain and BIC wouldn't let us ride on the track.
            Lorenzo took 2-3 Laps of the track and gave his go ahead, then only they let us ride with him.

                  Its really a golden opportunity lost for most riders to "properly" ride on the BIC, due to the rain. They could've had some proper laps with Lorenzo. But its God's decision, what can we do about an untimely rain, right in the December winters?

                  I've ridden & leaned in the wet on both R15v1's MRF tyres and Duke 390's stock Metzelers. I don't believe Duke 200's MRFs would be too bad by any means. Most modern street tyres are of softer compound with enough grooves, so its not really a problem leaning in the wet, as long as you know what you're doing. Still, more grip will translate to more speeds and better lap timings, and lesser risks of lowsides and highsides both, the former more so.


                  The event went well received overall although in the world of internet, there are still a lot of comments from the Rossi Fanclub(you know what I mean).
                  Anyhow, not all realize that it still takes a lot, a whole lot to be a MotoGP champion, and you can't dismiss Lorenzo on that count.
                  Even a one time MotoGP champ like Hayden, still belongs up there among the best. I'm sure riding with Lorenzo must've left riders spellbound...

                    Errr. Sirjee Stoner has won the premier championship twice!!! And he then retired at the peak of his career.

                    Also, i have been told by someone who rode there, that these MRF tyres were same size and tread pattern as those found on the Duke 200, but these were soft compound tyres especially built for the track. Something like what MRF makes for the Suzuki Gixxer SF in the Gixxer cup.

                      Possibly the same soft compound MRF tyres the CBR 250R One make championship bikes were equipped with.
