  • Launched! Kawasaki KLX 110 motorcycle in India at a price of Rs. 2.8 lakh.

Kawasaki has silently introduced its cheapest motorcycle for the Indian market but the same isn’t road legal and is limited to track use, or in this case, off-road use. The Kawasaki KLX 110 has been priced at a whooping Rs. 2.8 lakhs and comes via the CBU route, it’s a small bike to be used by kids only. Power comes in via a 112cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine, paired to a 5-speed gearbox, the clutch is automatic to prevent stalling.

Underpinning the Kawasaki KLX 110 is a high tensile steel frame while suspension duties are taken care by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking system consists of front and rear drum units. This off-road motorcycle is imported from Thailand and since it’s officially launched here, one can expect trouble-free service and easy availability of spare parts. The bike is available only in one colour which is lime green.

With a length of 1557 mm, height of 955 mm and width of 650 mm, the Kawasaki KLX 110 is compact while the seat height is 680 mm, making it apt for kids. The ground clearance stands at 218 mm while the motorbike tips the scales at a mere 76 kgs (wet). The fuel tank capacity is 3.78 litres but one can expect it to deliver a mileage upwards of 80 km/l.

This motorcycle certainly packs in appeal for the young riders out there who want to learn and master the art of off-roading on two-wheels. With its long travel suspension and automatic clutch, the Kawasaki KLX 110 is the perfect tool for enthusiastic kid bikers. However, at a price of Rs. 2.8 lakhs, this motorcycle doesn’t come cheap and will thus be limited to the Richie Riches in our country.

Kawasaki has just launched the KLX 110 motorcycle in India which is brought in via the CBU route. This off-road motorcycle isn't road legal and is aimed at kids.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

At first I thought this may be a rumour. However, Zauba data shows 16 units of the bike imported -

Either the market for kids' dirtbikes is bigger than the market for the proper dirtbikes in India or someone at Kawasaki has been smoking too much green.
Very strange choice, I must say. But maybe they follow up with the bigger dirtbikes so it may well turn out to be good.

Even by CBU standards, it appears costly for its category. Anyhow, it doesn't matter much as its the only choice for kids now.

I however hope that parents won't tell their kids to "go out and rule the road now"! It will be difficult convincing Indian people not to ride on public roads with this. We've seen it before that money doesn't guarantee intelligence, although I do expect an intelligent group to show interest in this bike...

Let's be positive. These kind of bikes can make the riders more skilled, if they learn the art with responsibility.. Such young riders may as well raise the Indian flag years later.

Oh boy. 2.8L. No registration or insurance charges. So the owner should get a pick up to showroom to take the bike away. I would be more than happy to buy this for my kid If I had the bucks.
As always , Kawasaki just doesn't care about the market or the pricing. The negative point is most of their machines are unreachable for most people. But the positive thing is they are launching almost all of their bikes in India.

Better that they are making it available atleast for those who have enough bucks.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Looks like a Rich-e-Saki. Madness. The rich can import these and maintain. Product should be launched according to country's buying capacity. Soon they'll sell boats in Nepal 😎

Why so much negativity guys??? Let us appreciate that manufacturers such as Kawasaki are looking to fill in more and more niche markets (however small they may be) and its a good thing I say!!! There are many adventure parks coming up all over India, and these mini-moto's would be a good addition in such parks. You can see already how the off-road Quad market has developed in India, with even big brands such as Polaris coming here. Kawasaki is obviously targetting this market.

Definitely interesting for lovers of off-roading. While it looks like a hard sell for kids in Indian context, counterparts in west start motorcycling early - let's not get into the legal age debate now!
