because they want to look cool? So many Duke/RC Riders in Bangalore never wear helmet, but they dont forget to put on their sunglasses.
Sad part is that when people point they dont point at people, but the bikes they ride.

This bike caters to a very specific mindset of people. If I buy this bike, I would not allow anyone to sit on it other than myself
As for carrying my sister or brother or mother or wife(in future), I have a more comfortable bike for them with a single seat system.

Not all bikes are made with the same intent. Instead of the MT15 you can always opt for the FZ16 which is more family friendly. MT and R series of Yamaha bikes are performance oriented. Dont expect to carry your family members on them.
In India, most people buy bikes so that 2 people can travel and sometimes even 3 and if the company wants to sell their vehicle and reach out to customers, it generally should have a decent pillion seat which i feel is most important thing that most of us look for.

quite amazing. the dog itself, and the ability of the owner to get it to stay on the bike.

Like I said before, bikes are not made with the same intent. There are plenty of options within the same segment of bikes. If you believe that the Pillion seat isnt decent on the MT15, you have FZ16 to rectify that problem. But then you would argue, you like the MT15 better and it has more performance. Understood, but you will have to deal with it. FZ16 would go out of business if MT15 provided all its features.

The point is, why do they have to brand it as a ride for two? Instead they can take off the pillion seat and call it a stunt bike or single seater. There is no use of a pillion seat when you can't accommodate one.

Thats what you think. Subjective opinion doesnt make it objective. The bike isnt designed for everyone or everything. The seat might be small but it may be plush. You simply cant let someone with a big arse sit pillion.

In this vehicle, it's more like NO ARSE PILLION hehe

hehe, after getting this bike, assuming its coming here, Ima remove the pillion seat and replace it with a cowl.

Look in India itself, there are different segments from a 97.2cc cafe racer to a 150cc Boxer(with a never ending seat). Then there is a RE Continental GT. And a Duke200. With the kind of pillion seat MT-15 has, only girlfriends on diet can be pillions(or some malnourished male friends - I'm not sure)! But, this one has been designed keeping in mind the fun and thrill seeking young population imo.
P.S. - Recently while I was in the interiors of Sunderbans on my SS-125, I was challenged by 4 wannabe VR46(all teenagers and without a helmet) on a single HH CD-Dawn! I conceded defeat without even accepting the challenge. Shows the fact that irrespective of the seat size, we can carry pillions in India! And where there is a will, there is a way!
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

The pillion space might be non-existent but if it's released in India it will come with saree guard, go figure.

The engine is taken from the r15 v2.0. It will be tuned slightly differently for this bike as it is a naked
