Clever pricing indeed. Personally love the front fender/wheel and the twin stacked up exhaust. I think this guy would create a new market sensation with budget based cruiser segment, like the "BRUISER" Budget + CRUSIER appeal, but how it's gonna unfold, is anyone's guess. Do I like this guy? Hell yea!

UM Motorcycles to launch Renegade Classic in June

If reports are true, then UM Motorcycles could be launching their latest bike for the Indian market. UM Motorcycle is all set to launch the Renegade Classic, unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, sometime in June-July. The Auto Expo 2016 also marked the entry of UM Motorcycles in the Indian market.
This will be the third bike from UM Motorcycles in the Indian market, as the company already has UM Renegade Commando and UM Renegade Sport S on the Indian streets.


So what do we know of the upcoming UM Motorcycles Renegade Classic:
Design:
The front part of the UM Renegade Classic gets a tall windshield above the single chromed headlamp. The Renegade Classic also comes with fog lamps on both the headlamps and comes with wide handlebar for smooth and comfortable ride.Moreover, the UM Renegade Classic gets spoke wheels with spokes.Engine:The UM Renegade Classic comes fitted with a 279cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled petrol engine which churns out peak power of 25bhp @8,500rpm and peak torque of 21.8Nm @7,000rpm, mated to a six-speed synchronous mesh overdrive transmission.


Performance:
UM Renegade Classic has a company claimed top speed of 125km/hr.Dimensions:The upcoming UM Renegade Classic is 1975mm in length, 1280mm in height and 730mm in width with kerb weight of 172kgs.


Competition:The upcoming UM Renegade Classic will rival Royal Enfield 350, Mahindra Mojo and Kawasaki Ninja 300 in the Indian market.


Price:
We expect the UM Renegade Classic to come within the price bracket of Rs 1.90 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi) to Rs 1.95 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi).

I was at auto expo and my jaw dropped the very second I put my eyes on these bikes.UM representative told me that these bike are introduced in india under MakeInIndia initiative and have a single manufacturing plant in uttrakhand and the company plans to expand to delhi and steadily towards south. These bikes surely looks smashing and are within the reach of average indian on pricepoint. What remains interesting to see is how UM will gather people's interest with it's after sales service and trust in it's product. I am a lot skeptical in buying their products as of now...hope to see that changing soon.
