These two-wheeler umbrellas are convenient for short trips in the city. Priced between Rs. 1,800 and Rs. 2,200 the two-wheeler umbrellas come in different colours, separately for motorbikes, and scooters.
M. Ghulam Rasool, who is promoting the product in Coimbatore, said
They claim that the product is aerodynamic, can protect riders and their family from the sun and rain, you can also remove it when not needed. It is also wind resistant. The vehicles can speed up to 60km/h without affecting the umbrella or the vehicle.
These two-wheeler umbrellas are little bigger than the length and breadth of the two-wheelers and occupies a fair share on the road. There is a possibility that these umbrellas will disturb other road users.
A senior Regional Transport Officer said that there is no provision under the Motor Vehicle Act to have a cover for two-wheelers.
As per the Rule - Any alterations and modifications in the vehicle that exceeded its permitted space and capacity will have to have an endorsement from the RTO, according to motor vehicle rules.

How will this handle the cross winds? I see this being mounted to the handlebars, won't it create a counter steering effect? At high speeds won't it pull off? Two-wheeler's are getting more aerodynamic efficient these days and now we have this?! Anyhow, I'd love to see these things mounted on the R1s and S1000s.
