  • [Photo Feature]: Spotted: Bajaj Platina LPG version!

    guys,
spotted the new bajaj platina with factory fitted o.e lpg kit in one of the bajaj showrooms in coimbatore when i went to service my p-200 and its a gj regd. vehicle. got a chance to ride the bike and its "awesome" when compared to the normal version of the platina, and also the engine is more refined and responsive. has a petrol tank which holds 5 lts of petrol and a gas tank right under the petrol tank(so well fitted that it cant be seen normally) which holds 5 kgs of lpg. all the instruments need to change the fuels to power up the engine is located in the right side of the handle bar. the right side instrumentation comes with the lpg level & fuel level indicator. although there is no tweaks in the engine in terms of performance, the engine can be described in two words "smooth & refined".

good. at least they are in progress. Bajaj (Platina LPG) and TVS (Star City LPG) promised LPG bikes by Jan 2009. Though late, this scoop confirms that the work is in progress.

              Good to see this... Progression.....

TVS and Bajaj promised thier 100cc Vesions of LPG Bikes ......and yes it looks neat and audible.... Hope TVS will also come sooner with thier Model.....

By the way the LPG Tank is placed near the Engine --- doesnt the heat of Engine does something to the cylinder!!!!!!!!!

Good move by bajaj I must say. They must give an umbrella free with every bike to avoid blasts when bike parked in open sunlight ..

On a serious note- When are we getting to see CNG bikes on road

TVS maintain their work very secretly! I believe they have their LPC bike ready.

I guess both Bajaj & TVS are awaiting the nod from ARAI & RTA's.

isn't LPG risky bike skids more often than cars, and if it does LPG has a very low ignition temperature compared to CNG
