The future Yamaha R6 might look a bit closer to the current litre class sibling Yamaha R1 as per the images shared by a Japanese motorcycle magazine. However, the middle-weight motorcycle will remain same for the current fiscal.

Re: 2017 Yamaha R6 renders surfaced in Japan
Exactly agree with the last paragraph. The R6 has never looked similar to the R1 and has always almost maintained a much sleeker appearance. This render though very good would most likely not surface in reality.
On a related note, there isn't a better time for Yamaha to launch their R6 in India. Until now the price difference globally between the R6 and the R1 was so close that launching the R6 in India would almost price it close to the R1 here. However with the new R1 priced at 24lakhs the R6 could be launched at the 14-16 lakh bracket where the 675, 959 and the F3 compete.Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell.
