Project LiveWire given green light with more revealed in interview
Harley-Davidson's senior vice president of global demand, Sean Cummings, has announced the company will produce an electric motorcycle within the next five years.
The reveal came during an interview with theMilwaukee Business Journal, and just two years after Harley-Davidson announced Project LiveWire project in which an electric Harley concept was unveiled.
Although further details are rather sketchy aside from what Cummings touched upon in his interview with the US publication, the announcement could be seen as a response to the recent activities by rivals, Victory Motorcycles, who continue in their push to prove their electric bike offering, namely the Victory Impulse TT.
Whether Harley-Davidson will be able to produce a commercially-viable electric bike whilst continuing to appeal to its core group of motorcyclists remains to be seen, but we here at MotorbikeTimes feel as though this could be an opportunity to attract a larger fanbase when offering something slightly different to what we have come to expect.
Check out a video of Project LiveWire below, and let us know what you think.
