Triumph Motorcycles has announced that the company will be attempting to achieve the new World Land Speed Record at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in the month of August. And helping the British bike maker to achieve this feat is none other than Guy Martin, the highly successful Isle of Man TT racer. On this occasion, Guy commented,
“I can’t wait to take the Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner onto the salt at Bonneville for the first time this summer. The Triumph engineers have built an amazing machine, giving us the very best chance to beat the two-wheeled land speed record.”

The record will be attempted on a purpose-built motorcycle having a carbon Kevlar monocoque construction with two turbocharged Triumph Rocket 3 engines producing 1,000 BHP of power at 9,000 RPM. The motorcycle is supposed to be 25.5 feet in length, 2 feet wide and 3 feet tall. It will run on methanol fuel and will compete in Division C category (streamlined motorcycles).
