Bajaj Dominar 400 Launched at 1.36 Lakh with 35Ps and 35Nm!
Same goes with the ppl who are over precising it.. stay neutral!! Why Suddenly ppl pointing out criticism... The time when ppl were over precising this bike all were happy & someone posted a short criticism on this one ppl are loosing there mind!!
& Pls someone tell me how this one is a competent product.. they are selling a 200cc performance bike with the tag of 373 cc...
Don't get me wrong the weight of the bike is all that m concerned abt.. & its not a rocket science to understand that bike is underpowered due its power to weight ratio its a decent touring bike at affordable price thats all.
Yamaha has brought in the most awaited R3 but it isn't a huge hit!! We cant criticize the manufacturer! At the end, sales volume is what matters for them!
One thing that Bajaj has to stop doing is. They should not suddenly stop production of their product! Hey have discontinued NS200 which was a great offering IMO
Agree mate. The answer to your question in second line is in first line. It is Sales. Business always look for profits. Moreover unless they retire one products, they cannot make way for next one. That's simple law of nature. New improved things making way for oldies.
I hold no grudges against Japs or others, My point was purely on the basis of Bringing a "Value for money Products at a affordable Price point for price sensitive india Mango Man" . Unfortunately for some strange reason;s , Japanese has failed in that miserably (May be due to lack of local manufacturing Or any xyz reason) & RE;s continue to sell so called sub standard overpriced products in the name of Macho Image & that ever elusive thump.

Both variants Discover 150 have also been axed silently.

I am surprised with peoples reactions on the thread. While constructive criticism is good, it is another matter to be a expert & pass judgement based on just a spec sheet .
Common folks, Let the test rides happen first & than pass on judgement . Every product is different. Let us not make blank statements. At least Bajaj has come up with a competent products ( at least on paper so far ) unlike likes of Yamaha / Honda & RE who continue to dish out what they like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would like to point out one thing.

I can tell only places i have visited so here it goes...
Bangalore to pune...
Delhi to Mumbai
Hyderabad to Bangalore
& M sure there are more places like these ones...
Sorry for putting so many dots my bad!! 😌
To add to the list, Ambala to Ludhiana!! Road is super straight with very little curves here and there..
Chennai to Bangalore, infact a few more that I know of..
But it isn't about what the bikes are Capable of. It is about how confident the rider is with braking at those high speeds!

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Launched at 1.36 Lakh with 35Ps and 35Nm!
Looks!!! dude m talking abt performance ... RE Is here from decades... & It has special feeling that dug dug thing.. its just same as Harley Davidson the ppl who own harley are loyal to its manufacturer they generally don't switch to any other manufacturer... Same goes withe RE. & Tell me a thing how this one is good touring machine... Its doesn't have any windshield nor any place to attach panniers. Ok.. no place for panniers is except able... But atleast they should have given the wind shield coz the amount of wind blast u will face above 120kmph makes you more tiering on long rides...
See a duke 200 has 19nm of torque which goes 0 to 100 in 9 sec.... & This one have a 35nm of torque despite of having 16nm of torque more than duke 200 its just a sec faster than that... Now tell how its ground breaking performance.. the only decent thing abt this one is that it has a slipper clutch & dual channel abs..
Dude.. there is nothing like 300cc thing in this bike...
Yeah.. its just an average touring bike... Ppl running there superbikes on our Indian highway that to 200kmph +.. so 150kmph is not an issue...
Don't expect any high end performance form this one.
Dominar is just here to replace mojo & royal Enfield thats all.
Getting top speed is other thing and cruising comfortably and safely is other. Suggest a continuous 150- 200kms stretch where we can do 200kmph all day.
Doing 120-130 kmph comfortably is sufficient for indian roads.
Dominar will fill the power cruiser segment which was missing, with 35ps power and 35 nm torque at 1.5L (ex showroom) is amazing.
Bajaj never projected it to be street bike or competitor for dukes and other nakeds.
PS: Request you to please not put dots (..) in between the sentences.

Ur perception about the looks is exactly opposite as mine..for me it looks fantabulous so as majority of the guys who have seen the bike..and bajaj all along has been maintaning that its gonna only compete with RE to get a small pie of its market share. Rahul bajaj was quoted yesterday that if Dominar can manage at least 20% of what RE its a big volume.

10kmph up or down in top speed is ok.. & no way rtr 200 can go upto 144kmph its just possible on inclined road & that shouldn't be called as topspeed.. i my self own a rtr200 & highest i can go upto is 134kmph including my weight... U are saying almost 30kmph more from wat manufacturer is claiming... & Though rtr200 is having 20bhp (carb variant) its engine is well tuned... So touching 170kmph is almost not possible... With dominar
Dude.. 182kgs+an average guy weighing around 65 kgs... = 247kgs no way it can pull that hard with only 35bhp of power.
Anyways the priority remains cruising so with 130km/hr on our indian road is decent enough, and if at all the dominar manages 150, i wonder do we have the roads to keep that pace constant enough.
