It was supposedly a brilliant bike, never got to test ride it but everyone who did was all praises. Or could there be a 765cc/800c daytona on the horizon?

Triumph Daytona 675r discontinued?
WTF!! Finally able to plan finances and everything for a Daytona, go to the showroom for booking and find out: Daytona no longer being manufactured? Why would Triumph do such a thing? The dealership said only the color red was available (that too only 1 bike) and none of the R versions was going to be available anymore.

Re: Triumph Daytona 675r discontinued?
Spy Pics of Street Triple 765 has been seen few months back however no news of Daytona 765. Ideally if they are developing a new higher cc engine which is Euro 4 compliant for Street Triple, the new Daytona should also be planned. Another rumor I heard is there will be multiple platforms develop on Street Triple platform like naked, sport tourer, etc.
Let's wait and watch if the legend gets killed or gets better.

I think it is going to get better. Daytona is too much of a pride for british motorcycling to get killed.Originally posted by Sachinnair View PostSpy Pics of Street Triple 765 has been seen few months back however no news of Daytona 765. Re: Triumph Daytona 675r discontinued?
This news comes at a specially bad time for me, since I was planning to buy one within the next month. Only discovered this when the dealer said that 675r in white was no longer available for sale. He didn't divulge much details but I came back home, googled and was disappointed to see the reason.
Now I'm in a fix. I can still buy a regular 675, but something tells me a newer Daytona is on the horizon. Probably a better version, maybe even higher capacity (765 or even 875) and might have features like traction control and other rider aids.
But I'm not sure I can wait after having arranged everything and having made up my mind to finally get the Daytona. Might pull the trigger on the 675 soon.
What would you do in my position?

Buy a used one?Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.

Re: Triumph Daytona 675r discontinued?
If there are any other dealers who can be approached check with them. The R version has all the add-ons which make it such a potent track tool. It also comes in Matt Black paint job, check if they have that in stock. Having said that the standard 675 is still a great bike if R is not an option at all. If you need something in less than a year, it's better not to wait for the new model because Triumph India anyways do not launch their new line up in India soon. The updated Speed Triple & Tiger Explorer are yet to see daylight in India whereas these models are launched overseas for quite sometime now.Originally posted by sub-zero View PostThis news comes at a specially bad time for me, since I was planning to buy one within the next month. I seriously hope they don't kill such a beautiful super sport and continue to update it.

Triumph Daytona 675r discontinued?
These rumours started about 1.5 years ago and looks like it's finally materialising. The current chief in charge of Triumph has made it amply clear that supersport market is a deadbeat and doesn't make Triumph any money. About 6-7 months ago Triumph terminated their contracts with almost all motorcycle racing teams which strongly indicated that the Daytona was coming to an end in the 675 avatar atleast.
The only source of worry, is the attitude of the current Triumph chief who strongly believes that Triumphs identity will be forged only with the adventure, touring and speed and street triple series. Daytona might very well become a causality of economics.Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell. Some of the greatest stories in the world are not written, they are experienced.

Triumph roadsters have a look that's muscular, aggressive. These focused sports bikes are perfect for road or track.
